In 2014, I was living in ‘Paseos de Guaycura’ in the Matamoros area on the outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico. I crossed the border for work in San Diego five days every week. Over several months I saw the gradual decay of a dog that died on the Alfonso Bustamante Labastida, Via Rapida Ote. which was the freeway part of the route I took to get to the border crossing into the U.S.///Atlantic Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard are two prominent passageways that traverse the North/South axis of the City of Long Beach, spanning between the Northside and Eastside of the City. Their street signs have been redrawn with permanent marker using the slang name of each, respectively.///201 E. Home Street is the location of my first home. A long, straight, concrete path lead from the porch through a front yard to the sidewalk. I used to do skateboard tricks over the gap from the sidewalk. Over many years of skating over it, I killed all the grass and carved a deep dip into it, exposing tree roots.
